What kind of chocolate will I get in my subscription?
There will be a variety in each box. There will always be at least one craft chocolate bar and some filled or dipped chocolates, and there will be 5-8 different items in each box.
All of the chocolate is sourced from artisan chocolatiers and chocolate makers around New Zealand. You won’t find supermarket chocolate in here (we are partial to the odd bit of Whittaker’s ourselves, but that’s not what this is about).
Can I choose what I get?
No sorry – but that’s part of the magic. We carefully curate each month’s collection to maximise your experience, so we can’t swap things out. However, you can let us know any preferences you have, and we take that into consideration when sourcing our products and planning future months. If you have any allergies or special requirements let us know and we’ll do what we can to accommodate them. And if you prefer to pick everything out yourself we have some amazing products in our store.
What if I have an allergy or am vegan?
If you have an intolerance or sensitivity we can provide gluten-free and dairy-free/vegan variations; just let us know when you place your order. We will make substitutions as required, so sometimes not everything in the box will be as listed, but you’ll get the same amount of chocolate and it’ll be just as delicious.
If you have another dietary requirement get in touch and we’ll let you know if we can make it work.
Because our suppliers are small they can’t always guarantee that there will be no traces of allergens, so if you’re severely allergic we might not be the service for you. We unfortunately can’t provide a nut-free subscription.
What if I don’t like what I get?
We do our best to source amazing, interesting and varied chocolate. We think you’ll love what we provide, but can’t provide a bulletproof guarantee, since everyone is a bit different. If you have any thoughts or issues please let us know by emailing email@example.com.
How do subscriptions work?
Your first payment covers your first delivery; if this is in the first half of the month you’ll usually get a box straight away (current status will be listed on the product page). If you sign up after the 15th your first delivery will be at the start of the following month. After the first payment you’ll be automatically billed on the 23rd of each month and chocolate will be dispatched at the start of the following month.

You may be familiar with some of the products but we work hard to provide a variety of established and brand-new products, all from amazing New Zealand-based artisan chocolatiers and chocolate makers. We choose chocolates that we can’t get enough of, and we hope you’ll feel the same way!
You can change, pause or cancel your subscription at any time from within your account. There is no minimum term and no membership cost – you just pay for each month as it comes.
Do I have to subscribe to order a box?
No – you can buy a one-off box, so long as we have stock available. These make great gifts too!
How do I place an order?
Just head over to the Shop page, choose your subscription and frequency, add to cart, and checkout. Simple!
Why do I have to create an account?
Because you are setting up an on-going subscription we need you to have an account. This means you can log in and change the details of your subscription at any time, including how often you receive a box, where your box is delivered etc. You can also easily pause or cancel your subscription at any time by logging in. The power is in your hands!
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept Mastercard and Visa credit and debit card payments.
There’s something wrong with my order; what do I do?
Let us know! We’ll do our best to fix it as quickly as we can. Email firstname.lastname@example.org with the details (feel free to include pictures if there’s a problem with a product) and we’ll get back to you pronto.
When do I get charged for my subscription?
Your first payment will go through when you sign up. After that, your monthly payment will be deducted on the 23rd of each month.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Log in to your account – you can pause or cancel at any time up till midnight on the day before your billing anniversary. If you have any issues drop us a line and we’ll get it sorted.
Can I change the frequency of my subscription deliveries?
We can do less frequent deliveries on a case-by-case basis – drop us a line if you’d like to change your delivery schedule.
When will my chocolate be delivered?
We send all subscriptions out on the first working day (or second working day if the 1st is a Friday) of each month. We’ll send you a notification email when your box is on its way. Most subscriptions arrive the day after we ship them but rural addresses can take longer.
Do I have to be home for delivery?
No, but we recommend it as a hot day could be a major problem for the contents of your box! If you’re not going to be home we suggest that you either redirect delivery to your workplace, or specify a cool place for the courier to leave your parcel (a chilli bin outside the front door can work well). You can pop a note in the delivery details in your account so the courier knows where to put your box if you missed it on checkout.
How are my chocolates shipped?
We use an overnight, nationwide courier service (although Rural Delivery can take a bit longer). Products are carefully packed in a robust mailer box and then inside a bag. Extra measures are taken in summer to ensure safe delivery.
If you won’t be home at the time of delivery we recommend that you either redirect delivery to your workplace, or pop a chilli bin outside your door and put a note to that effect in the shipping notes when you place your order.
How much is delivery?
Overnight delivery to non-rural addresses New Zealand-wide is included for subscriptions. Other orders are $5.
Rural Delivery is an extra $5 per delivery/month.
Do you do Rural Delivery?
Yes; it’s an extra $5 per delivery/month. Because we can’t guarantee overnight delivery we recommend rural customers get their chocolate delivered to a non-rural address if they can (it’s for the sake of the chocolate!) but we understand this isn’t always possible.
