Who makes the chocolate?

The Chocolate Tour proudly works with 25+ different chocolate brands from all over New Zealand. Everything is supplied to The Chocolate Tour in their original packaging. So you can see exactly who made it and what is in it! I am proud to promote and feature these stunning New Zealand businesses, and their delicious products. Sometimes they will send free samples for competitions, or as freebies for the subscription boxes. But otherwise I pay them a fair wholesale price for their products. I am always on the lookout for new and exciting chocolate brands. So if you have any chocolatey secrets to share please contact me!

Below are some of the New Zealand chocolatiers and chocolate makers that have been featured in the past;

What is artisan chocolate?

Creating amazing chocolate is a real art form. When talking about artisan chocolate, the focus is on the chocolate being made in small batches. Sometimes limited edition flavours, but never mass produced. The chocolate makers and chocolatiers that you will see featured in your box are small businesses. And it feels great knowing that we can support such a specialized industry in our own backyard! You can read more about the difference between a chocolate maker and a chocolatier in my blog!

The big brands can certainly have a place in the life of a chocolate lover. But there is no place for them in The Chocolate Tour boxes.  I hunt high and low to find extraordinary chocolates. So even if you are a well-travelled chocolate lover I promise to have a few surprises for you. This includes limited edition flavours that have been created exclusively for The Chocolate Tour!

What is in the chocolate boxes?

Each chocolate box includes a curated selection of different types of products. For example: bean-to-bar chocolate, flavoured chocolate bars, filled chocolates, bonbons, truffles, and other chocolate creations. And as each month revolves around a special theme, you are ensured to receive a large variety in flavours and brands throughout the year.

Chocolate featured in The Chocolate Tour boxes, must be:

  • Made in New Zealand
  • Artisan/craft quality – not mass produced
  • Amazing flavours (obviously)
  • High quality ingredients – no yucky fillers accepted

What about allergies?

Most artisan and craft chocolate is naturally gluten-free and vegan. There are also a small number of chocolate makers and chocolatiers who create dairy-free, sugar-free, or even keto chocolates.  Therefor I am confident in saying that I can cater to most dietary requirements. But if you have any concerns you can contact me on kim@thechocolatetour.co.nz so I can help you discover and enjoy the right chocolates.
